IIM Lucknow takes on education skill-building, to train UP secondary school principals

The training program is set to commence from March 27 and the first session will be held in the presence of basic education minister of India.

In a bid to bolster management skills among the principals of government secondary schools of Uttar Pradesh, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow will be conducting training sessions starting from March 27.

The training sessions organized by IIM Lucknow, will lay special emphasis on imparting leadership competencies and enhancing accountability towards their respective schools. This is further aimed at improving the quality of the education framework in the state.

A move towards the betterment of overall educational framework

The forthcoming training program for principals of government-run schools will be run together by IIM Lucknow and Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan. The training session will cover a range of topics, including counselling for academic excellence and happiness, alongside skill-building subjects.

The Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan of Uttar Pradesh strives to offer practical and relevant primary education to children between the ages of 6 to 14. It further aims to reduce social, regional, and gender-based disparities by involving communities in the management of schools.

What is the importance of the training initiative?

The role of school principals as the highest authority in their respective institutes is paramount to the enhancement of the educational system. Therefore, the continual development of school principals is essential to the improvement of the overall educational system, particularly in light of the everchanging scenarios.

The program seeks to equip principals with the necessary skills to effectively manage their schools and promote a conducive learning environment.

The first training session for the UP school principals is set to commence from March 27 onwards in the presence of basic education minister of India, Sandeep Singh.
