As per the information given by a government representative, the first industrial park will be established in Unnao near the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. Moving ahead with the plans, the authorities have spotted the land in Barauli Kalan village of the district for the construction of this park. Industries related to textile and ready-made garments, food processing, perfumes, brass products, toys and electronic equipment can be housed in these forthcoming centres.

In a bid to propel industrial growth, the state government had rolled out a number of relaxations and incentives for entrepreneurs. This would promote the establishment of industrial parks and warehouses and logistical aid would also be ensured. As a part of this, the land requirement for setting up such a park was curtailed through a tweak in the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy-2017.

Notably, private industrial parks can now be set up over an expanse of 20 acres or more in the Bundelkhand and Purvanchal regions of the state. Besides, 30 acres or more is required for developing a private industrial park in parts of western Uttar Pradesh, including Noida and Ghaziabad, and central Uttar Pradesh. Currently, the Industrial Development Department has earmarked about 9,000 hectares of land in 15 cities lying on the peripheries of expressways.

The areas have been selected close to the expressway in an attempt to ensure easier and faster movement of goods and resources. Besides, the economic viability of the project will also be supported by cutting down transportation costs. It is expected that the lands would be soon given out to private players and the industrial developments will be witnessed thereafter.

Slated developments to drive a boost in employment opportunities

With the materialisation of the future plans, a large number of direct and indirect employment opportunities will be available to the youth across the state. Additionally, 22,000 acres of land have been identified in Firozabad, Unnao, Agra, Chitrakoot, Mainpuri and Barabanki to attract large-scale investors. With strategic locations around the Purvanchal, Agra-Lucknow and Bundelkhand Expressways, these cities can definitely transform into a driving force for investments.
