After winning over everyone’s heart with her brilliant performance in her debut movie Dhadak, Janhvi Kapoor has begun shooting for her next film.
Janhvi had visited Lucknow earlier for Dhadak promotions and now, she is here to shoot for the upcoming film Kargil Girl.
Note: ‘Kargil Girl’ is a production title given to the film and the filmmakers might change the name at a later stage.
About the film
Dharma Productions next film ‘Kargil Girl’ is a biopic based on the life of pilot Gunjan Saxena, who had evacuated the injured soldiers stuck in the Kargil War, 1999. She is also the first woman to be awarded Shaurya Chakra, a gallantry award presented for valour, courageous action or self-sacrifice.
Jahnvi is playing the lead role of Gunjan Saxena and previously, Janhvi’s picture dressed as an IAF officer had created a lot of buzz on social media!
As the filming began on February 20 in Nirala Nagar, it is expected to continue for the next 15 days. The preliminary film shoot was done inside a house which has been converted into Major Deep Saxena’s house for the film. Other probable locations for the shoot include monuments in the Old Lucknow area.
Other co-actors in the film
Apart from Janhvi, Pankaj Tripathi, Ayesha Raza and Angad Bedi are also playing lead roles in the film. Local stage artist, Kapil Tilhari is also sharing the screen space in a scene with Janhvi. He is playing the role of an SSB officer, who takes Janhvi’s interview before her final selection in the Air Force.
Shanaya Kapoor also joins her cousin for the film
Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor has also arrived in Lucknow for the filming of the Gunjan Saxena biopic. Shanaya, who aspires to be an actress, is here to experience the life behind the scenes! She is the Assistant Director for Kargil Girl and will also stay in the city for the next two weeks with the crew.
