Approximately 20 flights are expected to land and take off from the airport in the second week of February.

In view of the upcoming Global Investors' Summit and the G20 meetings, Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport is preparing for a busy mid-February with VVIPs from across the world scheduled to arrive in chartered flights between Feb 10 and Feb 15. Parking spots for aircrafts have already been booked by numerous officials representing major industrial houses.

Extensive checks to be conducted on the Airport road

The airport authorities have also advised passengers to leave early for airport to catch their flights as they will be faced with route diversions and extensive security checks on the road leading to the airport. Owing to the expected rush, passengers flying mid-February might also face minor delays and time issues.

But the Airport authorities seem confident on being able to accommodate the incoming rush. Commenting on the situation, an airport official said "We have information about 20 chartered flights making a landing at the airport but this is not a big deal as we have seen around 22 such flights landing here during elections."

The security in and around the airport has been strengthened and the airport is ready to give the delegates a warm welcome. According to a spokesperson of the CCSI Airport, all the delegates "would be greeted with a tilak, garlanded and taken to the lounge." Bullet-proof cars have also been readied to ferry the VVIPs from the airport.
