In the light of rising environmental concerns, amidst global warming and climate change, Uttar Pradesh is planning to implement a Green Hydrogen Policy. The said policy is slated to facilitate deployment of clean and green energy production sources in UP.
Green Hydrogen will also aid the net zero target, which aims at cutting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to as close to zero as possible. India, at COP 26 in 2021, announced the target of achieving net zero by 2070.
The Uttar Pradesh Government is facilitating to promote green hydrogen and Green Ammonia production in the State through private entities. For the same goal, instructions have been given by the CM to consult stakeholders, working in the green hydrogen sector, so as to produce maximum benefits for users and investors. Moreover, firms working in the sector will be proffered max incentives. Similarly, companies joining in the movement will reap benefits like exemption from stamp duty and electricity duty, availability of land, among others.
