In a ‘green’ upgrade, the Kukrail Forest area in Lucknow is set to get a new Arogya Vatika park soon. The proposed biodiversity park will fuse the bounties of nature with the benefits of arogya and the thrill of adventure sports, making it an all-in-one development project. The park will feature a Thrill Tour, Nature Trail and a Canopy Walkway, to open more green recreational spaces for the city people.
Tourists will soon be able to escape from the city bustle here
The Kukrail region of Lucknow will soon witness a green facelift under the authority of the State Forest Department. Being built at an estimated cost of ₹525 crores, this biodiversity and health park had been in the development pipeline since 2018. However, project clearance, presentations and then the pandemic, delayed the execution of the park. Principal Secretary Forest Department, Manoj Singh, has now directed the concerned officials to further the process.
Reportedly, the park will be developed on the basis of its initial designs which include a Butterfly Park, Smriti Van, Bamboo-Palm and Vanasapati Vatika. The most-anticipated amid these, is the Butterfly Park, which is envisaged to be shaped like a butterfly. There has been no tampering with its blueprints in the new plan, read reports.
Besides, designated camping areas will also be set up here, to attract tourists all year long. The place will soon become a natural escape away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Its setting will be engineered to give visitors the look and feel of mountains in a rustic backdrop.
The upcoming park will complement the natural forest landscape
The green cover here will boast of specimens from across the nation, bringing the natural bounties of wildlife within your arm’s reach. As per reports, plants from Kerala, palm and deodar of Uttarakhand and the state’s own red sandalwood trees, will be planted here, among others. A complete jungle-like feel will be given to the park, which will be built to complement the natural landscape here.
Plans are also underway to develop a nature trail here and for this, footpaths will be carved from the side of the trees while ensuring that there is no loss of greenery. Benches will also be installed nears the trees, read reports.
In addition to this, fitness arrangements worth ₹33.29 crores will be made available here. Adventure sports’ avenues, such as rock climbing and a trail through the Kukrail River, will also be provisioned. To facilitate this, the river water will be purified, concluded reports.
