Largest in India, a new weightlifting hall with state-of-the-art facilities set up in Lucknow

A world-class training facility comes up in Lucknow!

The Lucknow centre of Sports Authority of India has set up a new weightlifting hall in the city, in order to give a boost to the sport. Spread over 15,000 square meters, this circular building has ample space to allow 100 players to practice at a single time. Pegged to be the largest in India, this hall is equipped with 26 platforms and machines worth 1.5 crores. These platforms can also be increased in number, as per need.

Giving a boost to the sports infrastructure in Lucknow, a gigantic weightlifting hall has been constructed at SAI's Lucknow centre in Sarojini Nagar. According to the sports instructor GP Sharma, this new centre will meet the demand for a world-class training facility in the city. It will help to culture and polish a pool of sportsperson in this discipline and train them to participate in global championships.

As informed by Sanjay Saraswat, Director SAI Lucknow, this hall can be upgraded to meet international standards, with an increased number of platforms. The sizeable unit will not only promote weightlifting as a sport across the state but also attract interactional talent to its class apart facilities. All prime standards of safety and hygiene are being met here to develop the new facility as a state-of-the-art provision in the city.
