Tired of the endless traffic jams near the Summit Building on Shaheed Path? You're not alone! To combat this persistent traffic jams, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) plans to widen a critical slip road on Shaheed Path near the Summit Building. This narrow stretch, a major bottleneck during peak hours, handles heavy pressure from office-goers and residents heading to the IGP office and nearby commercial areas.

LDA’s road fix on track, but CM-GRIDS Project leaves Vibhuti Khand in gridlock

An LDA official stated the proposal involves utilising a portion of the existing green belt to expand the carriageway, which is currently insufficient for the growing traffic load. The plan has been coordinated with the traffic police to ensure smooth execution. After securing approval, the authority will initiate the tendering process to begin work swiftly and improve traffic flow on this vital route.

Meanwhile, the ongoing CM-GRIDS project is adding to the chaos across the city. In Vibhuti Khand, crucial stretches, including the roads behind the UPSIC building, outside Hilton Garden Inn, near Starbucks, and the area around the Summit Building, are all dug up, creating a maze of detours. With roads disrupted around the Vibhuti Khand Police Station and CGST office, commuters are feeling the pinch. For now, it looks like Lucknow’s drivers are just swapping one traffic nightmare for another.
