Malls to reopen in Lucknow June 8 onwards; social distancing strictly to be followed

Businesses situated in and around the containment zones will remain shut.

The latest phase of this extensive lockdown has come with considerable relaxations, making our situations a bit more convenient. In light of the implementation of Unlock 1.0, it has been decided by the state government to partially allow markets and shops to be operational alongside broad roads in Lucknow. There are also no 'alternate day opening' rule in place for markets like Hazratganj but this move comes with a handful of instructions to be followed by the sellers and the consumers.

What's the Update?

The instructions by the concerned authorities state that markets which are situated on either sides of broad roads with dividers and footpaths which are at least 8-10 feet wide, will be allowed to be functional. It will also be a compulsion for markets and shops to be closed weekly and businesses situated near and in the containment zones are to be kept shut. Restaurants, places of worship, malls along with salons and beauty parlours will also be permitted to open up their shutters, June 8th onwards.

The stores selling essentials like milk, fruits, medicines and ration, are permitted to operate in the buffer zones. Gas agencies too, will be open for business. Although there are these relaxations, the issued guidelines related to security measures will be applied as it is. Markets and other crowded areas in Lucknow, are all set to establish control rooms from where they'll be actively monitoring the status of the people which includes crowd control and enforcing social distancing norms.

A message to all our readers

We have definitely reached a point where the lockdown guidelines are being considerably eased out but just because we're allowed to be outside, doesn't mean that we've flattened the raging COVID-19 curve. Please follow the directives by the concerned departments to lower your risk of infection. Do be responsible enough to carry a sanitizer along and step out only after wearing a mask!
