In a bid to support and strengthen talented sportsperson from less-developed areas, the Uttar Pradesh administration is working on a project to establish mini stadiums in the rural regions. As per reports, over two dozen Gram Panchayats of Lucknow have been chosen under this initiative. Reportedly, the sports facilities will be amped up in these areas and they will be equipped with advanced resources for better training of amateurs and budding professionals.

With a remarkable performance by the Indian athletes at the Tokyo Olympics, the government and sportspersons across the country are equally inspired. Now, the state authorities attempt to boost the sports ecosystem with enhanced facilities at the local level. Through the upcoming plans, the rural areas will also have an amped-up infrastructure at par with the services available in the urban locations.
As per reports, CDO A.K. Pandey informed that Mispipri, Kunaura Shahpur, Mehmoodnagar, Katauli, Bhasanda, Paraspur, Jabrauli, Aghaiyya, Naveenpah, Parabhadrahi, Dhubaila, Raitha, Hasnapur and other villages will get the mini stadiums. These grounds will have special tracks for the training of athletes. Reportedly, track and field events will be kept under prime focus, at these new centres.

It has been reported that the players of Discus Throw, Javeline Throw and other games will also be able to practice at these stadiums. Besides, they will have open-air gyms, to ensure augmented fitness opportunities for the youth. The stadiums with larger areas will also have goal posts for football.
As per reports, the authorities have informed that work will be implemented with the help of the MNREGA scheme and the equipment will be purchased through the CSR funds. For this, private firms and corporate firms will be roped in. Given the list of proposed establishments, it can be said that the government has converged its attention on fueling unprecedented developments in the field of sports.
