8 new COVID cases reported in Lucknow on Friday

Amid the rising fear of Omicron, 8 new cases of COVID were marked in Lucknow on Friday

Marking a rise in the COVID tally of the city, eight fresh cases of coronavirus infection were reported in Lucknow on Friday. Notably, the Police Commissioner of Lucknow DK Thakur had also tested positive for COVID yesterday. According to the officials, the samples of patients have been sent for genome sequencing to detect the Omicron variant.

While eight new cases were detected on Friday, two patients had marked their recovery on the same day in Lucknow. Apart from the Police Commissioner, five members of one family and a couple had tested positive for this virus yesterday. Notably, the family resides in the LDA colony whereas the couple undergoing neurological treatment at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute is from Sonbhadra.

Public advised to follow COVID appropriate behaviour

According to reports, the administration has decided to mark mini containment zones in areas where new cases are cropping up across the city. Along with this, the authorities are directed to ensure strict adherence to all the COVID-mandated protocols and conduct proper sanitization work throughout the city as well. Apart from this, the general public has been advised to avoid going out in crowded places and adopt COVID-appropriate behaviour while stepping out.
