Lucknow is no stranger to huge events and big gatherings yet nothing can surpass the buzz and activity that has been created by the upcoming Defence Expo 2020. The capital of Uttar Pradesh is scurrying with activity in anticipation of, undoubtedly, one of the biggest events the city has ever hosted.

The Defence Expo 2020 is Lucknow's first event of such a mammoth scale and the stakes are set high, as the expo will have over 925 exhibitors showcasing their top-of-the-line defence and military equipment.

What's the update?

Defence Expo 2020, which will be taking place in Lucknow from 5th to 9th of February, is a humongous event for the state capital and the country. With the year's theme being- 'India: The Emerging Defence Manufacturing Hub', India aims to rope in international defence companies to manufacture and set up base in the country.

The Defence Expo is expected to see some top-notch modern and cutting edge military equipment which can substantially enhance India's military and defensive prowess.

What's big?

The exhibition will see 925 exhibitors, out of which 150 are foreign defence equipment manufacturer while 775 are home-grown.

One of the biggest attractions at the Defence Expo is expected to be the F-21 Fighter Jet brought in by American aerospace giant, Lockheed Martin. European aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, will also showcase its latest military equipment and technologies right here at the venue. Airbus' exhibit will include the models of C295 aircraft- a tough and reliable aircraft, AS565 MBe Panther, the H145M and the H225M helicopters.

Put together, these will do wonders for the first-ever airshow that Lucknow will witness. Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is also expected to showcase 500 products from various fields of technology.

Knock Knock

Lucknow Defence Expo is one of the biggest news in the city right now and the expo has not even started yet. The DefExpo is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi and various dignitaries from around the world will participate here as well.

Happening at Lucknow's Vrindavan Yojana, the expo will be open to only invitees on its initial 3 days, 5-7th February, while on the last two, it will be thrown open to the general public.
