Around 150 pink vaccination booths for women have been set up in Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh government has started the provision of special 'pink booths' across all districts to promote the COVID vaccination activity among women. As per reports, about 150 such dedicated centres have been set up here, 2 in each district to encourage safe and hassle-free inoculation for ladies. Besides district-set ups, pink vaccination camps will also be set up at the tehsil level in the state.
UP boosts 'women special' vaccination drive
The state of Uttar Pradesh has directed each district to set up 'women special' vaccination camps in district women hospitals or district joint health centres as well as tehsil set-ups. This new provision to ensure that all women get the anti-COVID injections as soon as possible.
The speciality of these pink booths is that an all-female staff is deployed here to ensure the safety and comfort of the women beneficiaries. These dedicated sessions will also fast-track the long queues for inoculation, increasing the efficiency of jab administrations, effectively.
Earlier, the state government had also set up two-storeyed pink police booths, especially for the women under the banner of Lucknow Smart City's 'Safe City' project. The staff here also are female police officers, encouraging women to seek help without hesitancy or hassle. These units are secured with CCTV and are connected to the 1090 Women Powerline for grievance redressals.
