Lucknow-Kanpur Travel Update | Trains cancelled, routes diverted from March 20 to April 30
Rail travel between Lucknow and Kanpur will face significant disruptions from March 20 to April 30 due to engineering work on the Ganga Bridge. The railway administration has announced a mega traffic and power block, resulting in the cancellation of nine trains and the diversion of 17 others. During this period, over 100 trains operating on routes connecting Delhi, Eastern UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Bengal will either be cancelled or rerouted, causing major travel inconveniences.
Trains such as the Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Express and Barauni-Gwalior Express will be diverted, skipping key stations like Kanpur Central. The Kanpur-Lucknow MEMU will remain cancelled throughout the 42-day period.
To manage the passenger load, the Road Transport Corporation will run 50 additional buses, with more added if needed. Passengers are advised to check their train status on the IRCTC website before traveling to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
