Here's a list of things that you can do in Lucknow to make it a Happy New Year for all!

For the tumultuous ride that 2021 has been for most of us, here's how you can bring in the new year in a different way, this time.

For the tumultuous ride that 2021 has been for most of us, we gotta bring in the new year in a different way this time. December 31 doesn't have to be limited as an excuse to doll up, there's surely got to be something more to ending a year and beginning a new one than just that. While we know New Year celebrations scream party and all things fun, here is a list of things that you can do in stead to make your celebrations a more meaningful one:

Share the warmth of a new year with the needy!

While the comfort of our home is enough to keep us cosy on the chilly winter nights, there are hundreds of people that you can spot on the roads of Lucknow every day enduring the actual blow of winds. For people with no roof over their heads and little to no winter clothes, winter brings with it a season of suffering for the poor.

As you end this year, end the shivers of the needy and help them stay warm this winter by donating your clothes, blankets or whatever is in your capacity. If you don't feel like stepping out because of the virus, get in touch with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation for they will collect the clothes and deliver them to those in need.

Contact number: 0522-2307770, 0522-2307783, 0522-2307782, 6389115001, 6389115002, 6389115003.

Get your house help vaccinated

After surviving two waves of this deadly virus the only thing that we know is our safety is not just limited to so it only makes sense that we all move forward and push others to get completely inoculated as a community. So, on the final night of 2021, make sure you do your bit (if you haven't already) and assist your household and other workers to get vaccinated against coronavirus.

Burst the myths, spread awareness or walk to the vaccination centre, do whatever it takes as the only way to stay safe from the impending third wave is community immunisation!

Feeding the hungry

Every faith believes in the supremacy of feeding the underprivileged and to be honest, even no one can deny the power of this social work. And the best part about this deed is that it not only feeds the needy but also works as something that satisfies your soul truly! In times of Zomato and Swiggy, while it is easy of most of us to sit back and order food, there are a lot of people out there who find it hard to get one meal a day!

There are several organisations and NGO's in the city, like Robin Hood Army, who are working towards this cause. You can be a part of such initiatives too. And to make a beginning, next time you see some one asking for food, while you're enjoying your plate of pani-puri, make sure to do your bit and help them.

Sponsor a child's education for a brighter future!

They say education is the most powerful weapon to change this world, so mark the start of this year by taking the responsibility of one underprivileged student's school education if you can! Whether it is someone you know personally or through a mutual, find someone that needs your help and give them the chance to build a future for themselves and their tribe.

Out of the n number of people who don't get access to education in the country, if you still don't know who to support- there are multiple crowdfunding applications that work online and you can chip in their drives as well.

Help stray dogs remain full & warm!

They say that a dog is man's best friend and we think it is time to prove our friendship now. While one can't take care of the millions of stray dogs that live on the streets in the country, do your part by treating the doggos in your locality well.

Apart from offering occasional hugs, help them stay warm by clothing them and if you can, let them in your garden for the night to save them from the horrors of drunk-driving accidents. Meanwhile, as you feed the stray tonight, make sure you add some treats to their servings for being the cute ball of fur that they are!

Knock Knock

Offering a visible sense of satisfaction, good deeds make a double punch with the positive impact that they leave behind. As you take a step to give a little something back to society to mark a fresh start to 2022, make sure you continue the tradition no matter how big or small and help whoever you can, all year long!
