LU inks MoU with Universidade de Sao Paulo of Brazil

Lucknow University (LU) recently inked an MoU with Brazil's Universidade de Sao Paulo (USP) to forge a significant partnership focused on bolstering collaboration in education, research and cultural interchange.

This partnership will include an array of collaborated efforts ranging from coordinated teaching endeavors to customized study programs and strategically aligned professional development opportunities.

UPPCL to start rewarding informers about power theft

UPPCL is planning to introduce a program where people who report power theft will receive cash rewards anywhere in Uttar Pradesh. According to the chairman of the power corporation, many individuals have been sharing information about power theft on the department's website. To encourage more people to use the portal, they are considering offering cash rewards for accurate tips.

Second phase special immunisation drive in UP, from September 11

The second phase of the special immunization campaign known as 'Indradhanush 5.0,' which focuses on pregnant women and children throughout the state, is scheduled to commence on September 11. The state is planning an extensive awareness campaign to ensure that all eligible individuals receive their required vaccinations. To support this vaccination effort, a total of 3,800 medical officers and 2,74,143 ASHA and ANM workers have been trained.

Top officials of UPPCL to now call users, urging them to clear dues

On Friday, the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) initiated a statewide campaign aimed at reaching out to consumers via telephone to remind them to settle their electricity bills. As part of this drive, the UPPCL chairman, managing director, directors and discom managing directors will personally call 10 users each day. Similarly, directors and other officials at the distribution companies' headquarters will reach out to 15 consumers daily. Chief engineers, SDOs and JEs will make phone calls to 30 consumers each and so forth.

No signs of rainfall expected in Lucknow till Sep 4

According to the latest forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Lucknow centre, today's maximum temperature is 36.3°C, which is 2.8 degrees above the normal range, and the minimum temperature is 27.5°C. The weather in the city is expected to remain hot and humid with no indications of rainfall until September 4. However, there is a chance of scattered showers on September 5.
