Following an extended phase of soaring tomato prices within the Indian market, CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) in Lucknow has initiated novel research aimed at potentially regulating future price fluctuations. The research could potentially help in extending the storage and transportation duration of tomatoes. This research specifically focused on the 'Arkavikas' and 'Elsacrete' varieties.

Millet based dishes to be included in mid day meals of UP govt. schools

As another initiative for commemorating the year 2023 as the 'International Year of Millets', students of government schools in Uttar Pradesh will now enjoy a millet dish in their midday meals. Students will be served ‘bajre ki khichdi’ in the mid-day meals (MDM) on Fridays. The dish will be accompanied with seasonal vegetables and moong dal.

Survey identifies 245 critical waterlogging spots in Lucknow

In a recent Geographical Information Survey (GIS) conducted in Lucknow, a total of 245 vulnerable points prone to sewage blockages during monsoons were identified. The survey was carried out by SUEZ India, a private firm. This further revealed a critical flaw in the city's drainage infrastructure. The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) will be taking appropriate measures to address these issues.

Lucknow Falcons team's jersey and squad revealed for upcoming UPT20 league

The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) is gearing up to host a state-oriented T20 cricket tournament commencing on August 30. The UPT20 league will comprise 6 teams representing different cities, including the Lucknow franchise known as Lucknow Falcons. The team has officially revealed its squad and jersey. Leading the playing 11 will be IPL player Priyam Garg, with Yash Dayal serving as the vice-captain.

UP to get mega convention centres in 5 cities including Lucknow

As the state aims to attract investments totalling USD 1 trillion in the coming 4 years, several cities are anticipated to host global-standard trade fairs, expos, conclaves and seminars. To facilitate this, the state government is focused on establishing substantial convention centers in 5 key districts.

These centers will be designed with a foresight for the next 20 to 25 years, encompassing various amenities such as expansive auditoriums and even a 5-star hotel.
