A groundbreaking infrastructure project is set to revolutionise travel between Lucknow and Bhopal, slashing the current 14-hour long road journey to just 7 hours. The Lucknow-Bhopal Expressway, now under construction, will be a high-speed corridor linking Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, transforming central India’s connectivity.

Estimated at ₹11,000 crore, the project has been in development for five years. Once completed, the expressway will not only reduce travel time dramatically but also act as a vital economic artery between northern and central India, fueling growth, trade, and regional development.

600 km high-speed corridor to be developed in three phases

The 600-kilometre Lucknow-Bhopal Expressway is being built in three major phases, the Kanpur-Kabrai Highway, Kabrai-Sagar Highway, and Sagar-Bhopal Highway. This four to six-lane expressway will seamlessly connect with existing road networks, inspired by the efficiency of the Yamuna Expressway. Passing through key districts such as Kanpur, Hamirpur, and Mahoba, it will greatly benefit the Bundelkhand region.

Upon completion, the expressway will connect directly with the Lucknow-Kanpur Highway, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted travel experience. Beyond improving mobility, it is poised to strengthen economic growth, enhance regional connectivity, and significantly promote trade, tourism, and development across Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
