As per CM orders, the officials also need to fix an amount for compensation for each area, based on the damage suffered there.

All schools, colleges closed in UP

However, UP Board Examinations which are set to commence from the September 18 will be held as per schedule. The rains will reportedly start to decline from September 17 only added reports. People can expect sparse and moderate showers in the next 48 hours.

Weather alert in Lucknow

Lucknow recorded up to 235 mm of rainfall in the past 36 hours. Even posh localities in the city, including Mall Venue and Raj Bhawan Colony, faced issues of waterlogging, read reports. Several cars and vehicles suffered damage due to roads that caved in and the water collected on the roads.

The speedy winds uprooted about 150 trees and 300 electric poles across the district. Rainwater also led to snags across three-score transformers that caused prolonged power disruptions in the city. Road, rail and air traffic were also affected due to waterlogged ways.

In light of this, the Police Commissionerate and district magistrate in Lucknow have issued an advisory, urging people not to move out of their houses unless absolutely essential. People have been asked to avoid electric poles or isolated trees and stay clear from roads with potholes.
