Lucknow University launches an anonymous faculty feedback option to improve quality of education
In a bid to provide quality teaching to the students, the city's eminent Lucknow University has come up with a system that will record students' feedback about the teachers.
Now, LU students will anonymously be able to record their opinions on the university teachers' skills, punctuality, and regularity.
Entering into his second term in office, LU Vice Chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Rai has launched the initiative. "It will be a robust system in which the identities of the students will be protected. In present times, we do not have a system to measure teachers' performance in class. The new system will help in finding out what the students feel about their teachers," he explained the concept.
From the LU students
Opining on the aforementioned changes, Lucknow University students shared interesting reactions with Knocksense.
Vikas Jaiswal, an LU student, expressed, "If the move is implemented well, it has the capability of improving student-teacher relationship and interaction. Teachers will increase their focus on students, be more punctual, and that will only maintain the goodwill."
Ensuring quality education
A meeting was held recently, chaired by the vice chancellor and in the presence of all deans, heads of departments, and other officials, where he emphasised on the supervision of numerous academic activities in the campus.
The department heads have also been urged to share an apt departmental time-table with appropriate credits with their respective deans. The teaching load on every faculty member will also be noted here.
