Lucknow University (LU) has launched an innovative 'Researcher in Residence' programme aimed at fostering international collaboration and enhancing the intellectual vibrancy of its campus. Through this initiative, foreign faculty members, scientists, and industry experts can conduct research at the university for a minimum duration of three months.

International collaborations and knowledge exchange are on the cards!

According to LU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, the programme offers a unique opportunity for international researchers with a PhD or equivalent experience to immerse themselves in the academic life of the university. The visiting scholars will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including laboratories and libraries.

In exchange for accommodation and a contingent grant, the researchers are expected to produce tangible research outputs, actively engage with the academic community, and participate in seminars and workshops. They will also contribute to teaching and mentoring activities during their stay.

Applications, which must include a detailed research proposal, are accepted year-round and should be submitted at least six months before the intended residency. Preference will be given to applicants with strong academic backgrounds, a record of research excellence, and proposals aligning with LU’s research priorities.

Prof. Rai emphasised that this initiative will create a unique opportunity for international collaboration and knowledge exchange, vital for the advancement of higher education.
