Lucknow scores big in UPSC Civil Services Exams with 4 locals ranked in the top 100!

Leading the city's group of achievers, Pooja Gupta secured an All India Rank of 42.

Bringing widespread fame and recognition to the city, four meritorious individuals from Lucknow have secured coveted spots amid the top 100 ranks of the UPSC Civil Services Examinations. Leading the city's group of achievers, Pooja Gupta secured an All India Rank of 42 while Divyanshu Nigam bagged 44th place in one of the toughest examinations in the country. Additionally, Vidhu Shekhar and Shivakshi Dixit from Lucknow secured 54th and 64th spots, scripting stories of remarkable success!

Lucknow's Vidhu Shekhar finally nails IAS after 2 cleared UPSC attempts!

With an All India Rank of 173, Vidhu Shekhar a resident of Sarojini Naidu Marg, was selected in the Indian Revenue Services (Income Tax) in 2018. He went ahead to succeed in the 2019 examination as well, where he secured an All India Rank of 191. Driven by his will and determination, the committed individual finally bagged a below-100 rank of 54, turning his dreams into reality!

Despite being selected for a prestigious engineering job during his campus placements at IIIT Allahabad, Vidhu wished to achieve something bigger in life. In 2018, he started preparing for civil services after resigning from his job. Currently, the illustrious individual is undergoing training at the National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT) in Nagpur.

Shivakshi Dixit & Divyanshu Nigam climbing up the ladder

Shivakshi Dixit, a resident of Indira Nagar lost her father in 2018, as a young girl. In spite of having a hard tryst with fate, the devoted girl kept striving towards her goals. As per reports, she bagged the second rank in the state PCS in 2020 but she had always dreamt of making it to the Indian Administrative Services. Through her consistent efforts, the graduate of Shri Ram College Of Commerce landed at the 64th spot in the results of Civil Service Exams 2020.

Shivakshi's story resonates with another topper from the city. 25-year old Divyanshu Nigam lost his father due to COVID-19 in June this year. Despite this unbearable loss, Nigam did not lose focus and appeared for civil service interviews in a span of two months. As per reports, Divyanshu is a Chemical Engineer from Birla Institute of Technology (BITS), Pilani. Now, he wishes to contribute to the healthcare sector, in an attempt to serve society.

Multiple PCS officers from UP crack UPSC CSE 2020!

In another notable feat for Uttar Pradesh, a number of PCS officers from the state secured spots in the UPSC CSE merit list this year. Amongst them, PCS Shashwat Tripurari secured an All India Rank of 19 followed by PCS Prakhar, who was placed at the 29th spot, reportedly.

Further, reports state that Bushra Bano of PCS batch 2017 has succeded to get a rank of 234 while PCS Aditya Singh bagged the 92nd position. As per reports, PCS officers Apoorva Bharat, Vishal Srivastava, Abhishek Kumar, Vipin Driwedi, Rajat Kumar Pal, Priya Yadav and Varun Shukla have also made found a place in the distinguished list of achievers.

While some nailed success in the first attempt, Vidhu had to take a long journey of several years before his final dreams could be materialised.
