Nearly 75 thousand beneficiaries to be inoculated in Lucknow on Tuesday!

Drives on Tuesday to run from 9 AM to 5 PM

Attempting to set a new record, the immunisation officials in Lucknow have planned to conduct 75,000 vaccinations in a single day, on Tuesday. While the current record stands close to 25K, the expected milestone would help in fuelling the city's inoculation program further. Under this special drive tomorrow, focused camps will be organised in housing societies, apartments, residential colonies, government and private offices, markets and places of worship to accomplish the goal.

United efforts by various groups & organisations in the city

In a bid to ensure execution of the extensive plans, health officials are roping in resident welfare associations, companies, traders' associations and religious heads. Notably, the upcoming camps on Tuesday would add to the total volume of already functional drives at district hospitals, medical education institutes, community and primary health centres and private hospitals.

District immunisation officer, Dr. M.K. Singh said, "Special camps will arrange logistics, while we will provide inoculators. We have around 650 vaccinators apart from observation staff and data entry operators. A vaccinator can inoculate around 150 people in a day." The current intervention comes in response to the requests made by resident welfare associations, government departments and private companies. All such groups had demanded for targeted drives through special camps.

Drives on Tuesday to run from 9 AM to 5 PM

Informing about tomorrow's schedule, Dr. M.K. Singh said, "Vaccines will be stored at our health centres and will be delivered to special camps in the morning. The drive will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. People can simply walk in with a government recognised identity card for on-the-spot registration." Other than this, the current centres will witness the drives as per the ongoing norms, wherein both categories of registered and on-spot beneficiaries would be allowed.

As per the immunisation officer, the district will receive a total of 1 lakh doses and 75,000 of these will be used on Tuesday. Further, he informed that 67,000 doses of Covishield and 8,000 doses of Covaxin will be utilised. While a large of citizens are expected across the inoculation sites in the city, 4,000 beneficiaries will be benefitted through the special camp at Sadar Gurudwara.
