Further, the inoculation official stated that the walk-in registration facility has been made available for the beneficiaries who are unable to book their slot beforehand. They will have to show a government recognised photo ID, in order to procure the benefit of immunisation. As per the current plans, 40% of the total doses will be reserved for the walk-in category while 60% of the stock will be used for the registered beneficiaries.

Scaling up the vaccination program, special camps were started across religious places of various faiths and this initiative has accelerated the drives significantly. As per records, nearly 10% of the total 28.2 lakh Covid doses administered in Lucknow, have been given at these special camps.

Amongst the 19 such camps organised in Lucknow, Eidgah Aishbag has logged the highest count of beneficiaries with 77,156 shots administered till now. This is followed by Naka Gurdwara (48,520), Chhota Imambara (30,020), Sant Nirankari Bhawan (17,183), Sadar Gurdwara (15,745) and Radha Swami Satsang (6,299).

Eidgah Imam Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali said, "We took the initiative and got ourselves inoculated first, which helped in diluting hesitancy among people, particularly minorities. Vaccination drive has not stopped here even for a single day since the rollout." Given the efforts taken by the authorities, it can be expected that a considerable chunk of the population will be fully immunised soon.
