Lucknow Weather: Temp drops 6.9°C below normal, 22 trains & 18 flights delayed, rainfall expected
Lucknow's persistent cold weather, worsened by strong winds and thick fog, delayed 22 trains and 18 flights on Tuesday. The city's temperature dropped to 13.5°C, 6.9°C below normal due to the lack of sunlight, equalling this season's lowest reading.
Weather across the city and state will remain similar until Friday. North-western winds will continue to add to the cold, while a new western disturbance is expected to bring rainfall to several districts in Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, on January 11 and 12.
Paediatrician cautions against continuous heater use
A paediatrician at Lohia Institute has advised against the continuous use of heaters or blowers in enclosed spaces. Children are at risk of getting too cold when stepping outside after being in a heated room. Prolonged exposure to heaters can also reduce oxygen levels in the room. It is recommended to maintain a moderate room temperature while using heaters.
