The city has received its first share of vaccine doses and the launch is scheduled for Saturday.
After the first consignment of vaccine doses reached Lucknow, the city is making arrangements for the launch scheduled for Saturday. As per reports, the District Magistrate announced a detailed advisory regarding many facets of the COVID-19 vaccination. The DM addressed various points concerning the online portal for registrations and advised the citizens to follow guidelines. While the first and second phases of immunization would be conducted for healthcare and frontline workers respectively, the third phase would benefit citizens with comorbidities who are above the age of 50.
Citizens asked to register with active mobile numbers
The citizens would be required to register themselves on the centralized portal for vaccination which awaits a start shortly. It would take the general details of the individuals including their medical history. People would be mandated to get a document ID verified on the portal, post which they would receive a confirmation on the registered number.
The District Magistrate has appealed to the people of the city to record their functional mobile numbers on the website. It is through this contact that a person would be informed about the date and place of vaccination for both the doses. The entire process of vaccine registration is automatic and if the right contacts aren't provided, one may be dropped out of the inoculation process.
The DM further asked the citizens not to fall into the trap of fake portals and clarified that there is no shortcut route for gaining instant vaccination. While the administration is making sure that the citizens are informed about the updates frequently, citizens can contact the state toll-free number 1800-1805-145 or COVID-19 control room number 0522-4523000 in case of ambiguity.
COVID-19 related protocols to be mandated even after immunization
The DM announced that vaccine doses from two companies had reached the city. Once a person gets the first dose, he will be given the next dose after 28 days. During this period, the recipients would get a vaccination card. He further stated that the citizens would be required to follow Covid related protocols of using masks and practising social distancing even after immunization. After the second vaccine dose is administered to an individual, a QR code would be generated which would bestow the individual with a completion certificate.
