The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket International Stadium will soon host the upcoming India vs South Africa Women’s series. Set to begin from March 7, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association confirmed on Tuesday that the 8 matches limited series will take place in Lucknow. This league will include 5 ODIs (One Day International) matches and 3 T-20s matches. As per reports, both teams will reach Lucknow on February 25 and enter a bio bubble until the matches begin.
What’s the update?
Both teams, of 22 each, will have to adhere to the quarantine protocols and the training sessions are set to start from March 3, with hardly 4 days in hand for preparations before the series opener. While Team India will hit the pitch for the first time since the T-20 World Cup in March last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, South Africa has played recently.
All ODIs will be day games and will be played on March 7, 9, 12, 14 and 17. According to the press release issued by the UPCA, Ekana Cricket Stadium will host the first two T-20 matches under lights here, on March 20 and 21. The third T-20 match will also be played during the day, on March 24. The BCCI has also provided a schedule for the series which is as follows:
