Lucknow’s beloved Ram Manohar Lohia Park is set for an exciting upgrade, the city’s first dedicated skate park. Spanning over 4,000 square metres, a sleek skating rink will replace a long-neglected water body, offering a safe, high-tech space for skateboarding, roller skating, and even skate cycling. A separate 2,400-square-metre skate bowl will cater to thrill-seekers.

Skate rink and play area aim to draw families

The project, approved by LDA with a budget of ₹4 crore, is being developed on the site of a neglected water body, breathing new life into the area. Apart from the rink, a new children’s play area and a functional pond are also in the works to make the park even more family-friendly.

To make Lohia Park a vibrant hub for both recreation and tourism, the LDA plans to maintain the rink for the first three years. Post that, they’re exploring the idea of partnering with private entities to introduce ticketed entries and events, generating long-term revenue.
