Lucknow’s King George’s Medical University (KGMU) has rolled out the facility of seamless cashless transactions for attendees and patients, joining the Indian digital economy mission.
Payment in cash had become a common issue for patients at KGMU and will, in turn, be resolved with the step. While the option to pay cash still remains, major departments have started the digital transactions. This includes significant KGMU arms like Trauma Center, Queen Mary Hospital, the main PRO building, Centenary Hospital, pathology and urology departments and department of physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Enabling a cashless payment system: KGMU
With this, KGMU is all set to accept cashless payments through credit cards, debit cards, Paytm, G pay and UPI wallets.
The patient load at the eminent government institution is high, with as many as 300 patients visiting Trauma Center daily. KGMU also has some 4,500 beds. In such a situation, the development comes as a huge relief to patients and attendees. They will not only be able to go ahead with quick payments but it will also help reduce long queues at the hospital.
