Five new railway stations are being developed in Lucknow’s outskirts, to ease the growing passenger pressure on Charbagh Station and Lucknow Junction. These stops—Malhaur, Alamnagar, Manaknagar, Transport Nagar, and Uttaretia—will soon serve as directional hubs, handling trains on specific routes. Currently, Charbagh handles over 257 trains daily, serving around 1.25 lakh passengers, making it Lucknow’s largest and busiest railway station.
Better travel, less hassle!
Under the new plan, long-distance trains heading to cities like Moradabad, Delhi, Varanasi, and Prayagraj will stop at these newly developed stations, offering passengers greater convenience and reducing congestion. Passengers will no longer have to travel to Charbagh or Lucknow Junction, with increased stoppages at the five new stations.
The stations will also accommodate modern facilities, including elevators, escalators, water vending machines, and automated ticketing systems, improving overall passenger comfort.
In addition to the Charbagh upgrades, other stations, including Badshah Nagar, Aish Bagh, and Daliganj, are also set for major enhancements. These upgrades aim to streamline operations, reduce overcrowding, and improve accessibility across Lucknow’s railway network.
