The digital human rights awareness campaign will be carried out across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow & Kanpur.

The concept of digital human rights encompasses the right to privacy and data protection, as well as the equitable distribution of internet access, regardless of one's economic status.

In light of these principles, a group of researchers from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University (RMLNLU) will be conducting a statewide campaign across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow and Kanpur. The objective of this initiative is to promote awareness and education regarding digital rights, with a particular emphasis on the topics of freedom of expression and privacy.

A campaign pertaining to "the study of issues and challenges of digital human rights in UP"

The Uttar Pradesh Human Rights Commission (UPHRC) has commissioned the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University (RMLNLU) with a project entitled 'A study of issues and challenges of digital human rights in the state of Uttar Pradesh'. The objective of this initiative is to conduct research and analysis of the existing problems and obstacles related to digital human rights within the districts of UP.

Upon the completion of this study, RMLNLU will provide a comprehensive report to the Uttar Pradesh Human Rights Commission. The report will be utilized for the development of policies and regulations concerning the changing dimensions of human rights in the digital era.

How will the project aid the people of UP?

Reportedly, the statewide campaign will be carried out under the guidance of RMLNLU faculties Aman Deep Singh and Vikas Bhati, in collaboration with two additional research scholars from the institution.

The team from RMLNLU will be focusing on providing comprehensive education and training to the people of Uttar Pradesh, with the aim of equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills related to digital human rights.

As mentioned previously, these rights, which include freedom of expression and privacy, allow individuals to access, utilize, create, and publish digital media, as well as utilize electronic devices and communication networks.
