Lucknow has upgraded its testing capacities and around 4.5 lakh COVID tests have been conducted so far, which happens to be the highest among all other districts in Uttar Pradesh,. Following the state administration’s directives, Lucknow has ramped up its testing facilities, yielding an 8.8% case positivity rate; that is, 8.8% of all 4.5 lakh samples are infected with the Coronavirus.
Towering testing to trap the virus
The state administration believes that scaling up testing rates will help to arrest the growth of virus transmission and the Chief Minister is himself tracking the testing progress in each district. Moreover, this amped-up testing in the capital and state is being used to control further spread of the virus by using two strong pillars of the containment strategy, the numbers of micro-planning purposes and contact tracing.
On-demand testing!
Lucknow has liberalised the COVID testing facilities, that is, anybody in the city can get themselves tested based on ‘on-demand’ testing, as approved by the ICMR. This is one of the major reasons that has helped ramp up the testing ratios in the city.
