Lucknow will soon have a new road named Shubhanshu Shukla Marg in Triveni Nagar, leading to the ancestral home of India’s latest space hero, Shubhanshu Shukla. The Lucknow Municipal Corporation has sanctioned a budget of ₹10 lakh for the construction, which includes building a 150-meter-long road and a drain, expected to be completed before Shukla’s visit on August 17, 2025.

Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who made history as part of ISRO’s Gaganyaan mission and India’s first crew aboard the ISS under Axiom-4, spent 18 days in space. He is only the second Indian after Rakesh Sharma (1984) to achieve this remarkable feat, and the first to journey to the ISS.

Residents and Shukla’s family welcomed the move, calling it a proud moment for Lucknow. The project has been fast-tracked via e-tendering.
