Major routes to be barricaded in Lucknow on I-Day; Check traffic diversions here

Traffic will be diverted from 6:00 AM till the culmination of events. Read on to know more.

This Independence day, Lucknow is set to witness the soulful celebration that will mark 75 years of Independence. With spectacles like parades, Ganj carnival, cross city runs and various other programmes, several departments are working towards creating a happening, and inclusive event.

On those lines, in a bid to ensure hassle-free commute, Lucknow traffic police have released a list of diversions that will be imposed on August 15. Read on to know more about the diversions:

Traffic diversions imposed for hassle-free commute

Vehicular movement will be diverted on Monday for Independence Day programmes near Vidhan Sabha, Raj Bhawan and Shaheed Smarak. Traffic will be diverted from 6:00 AM till the culmination of events. Listed below are all diversions:

Diversions for events outside Vidhan Bhawan:

  • Traffic bound to Hazratganj from the Bandariya Bagh side will be diverted towards Loreto College and the 1090 crossing in Gomtinagar.

  • Vehicles from Hussainganj crossing towards Vidhan Sabha will be diverted towards Kaiserbagh.

  • Hazratganj bound traffic from Mahanagar's side will be diverted towards Baikunth Dham.

  • City buses from KKC crossing will move towards Loco crossing and Kaiserbagh.

Diversions for Parade from Lucknow Christian college to Shaheed Smarak

  • Traffic from the city station towards Golaganj trisection and Balrampur Hospital will be diverted towards Nabiullah road and Daliganj.

  • Vehicles from Residency trisection towards Balrampur Hospital, Golaganj and Kaiserbagh will be diverted towards Daliganj.

  • Vehicular Traffic from Aminabad towards Kaiserbagh bus station will go towards Nazirabad.

  • Traffic movement from La Touche road to Kaiserbagh crossing will be diverted towards Nazirabad.

  • Swasthya Bhawan-bound traffic from Parivartan Chowk will be diverted towards Hanuman Setu.

  • No Vehicles from the Chowk will be allowed to move towards Shaheed Smarak, and will be diverted towards Nabiullah road and Daliganj instead.

Diversions near Raj Bhawan

  • Vehicular movement from Bandariya Bagh crossing towards Raj Bhawan and Hazratganj will be diverted towards Loreto College and the 1090 intersection.

  • Traffic from the DSO crossing will not be allowed towards Hazratganj, GPO park and will be diverted towards Park road.

  • Traffic from Bapu Bhawan crossing towards Lal Bahadur Shastri Bhawan will be diverted towards Hazratganj and Burlington.
