Major traffic diversions in Lucknow for President Murmu’s visit; check alternative routes here
President Draupadi Murmu is in Lucknow today, November 28, for a series of official engagements including her visit to the 19th National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides at the Defence Expo grounds.
With the President’s movement underway, Lucknow Police have activated extensive traffic diversions around the airport, Raj Bhavan, Sultanpur Road and the Defence Expo venue.
Restrictions, which began at 8 pm on November 27, will remain in force until 5:30 pm today. Meanwhile, a green corridor is available for emergency vehicles, and commuters are advised to take alternative routes. All programme venues have been declared no-flying zones, with heightened security in place.
Traffic Diversion Plan issued by Traffic Police
Amausi Airport
General traffic will not be allowed inside Amausi Airport from the Amausi Airport VIP turn. Vehicles will be diverted left from the Amausi Commercial turn.
Traffic from the Shaheed Path turn-Kanpur Road Tiraaha towards Shaheed Path will be halted. Vehicles will be diverted via Transport Nagar, Purani Chungi Tiraaha, Piccadilly Tiraaha, Barabirwa Chauraha, or Scooter India Chauraha-Junabganj turn.
Raj Bhavan Area
Traffic movement from Bandariabag Chauraha towards Raj Bhavan, DSO Chauraha, or Hazratganj will not be allowed. Vehicles will be diverted via Golf Club Chauraha or Lalbati Chauraha-SN Overbridge.
From Lalbati Chauraha towards Prerna Kendra, Annexy Tiraaha, or Sisendi Tiraaha, traffic will be diverted via Bandariabag Chauraha, Golf Club Chauraha, or SN Overbridge.
From Hazratganj Chauraha towards DSO or Bandariabag Chauraha, traffic will be routed via Sikanderbagh Chauraha, UPTEC Chauraha, or Royal Hotel-Burlington Chauraha.
From Royal Hotel Chauraha towards Sisendi, DSO, Annexy, Prerna Kendra, or Lalbati Chauraha, traffic will be diverted via Hazratganj, Sikanderbagh, or Burlington Chauraha.
No roadways buses from 1090 Chauraha will be allowed towards Golf Club or Bandariabag Chauraha; they will pass via Baikunthdham and Chiraiyajheel Tiraaha.
From Park Road Chauraha towards DSO, traffic will move via Hazratganj or Golf Club Chauraha.
The stretch between DSO Chauraha and Park Road Chauraha, and from Park Road Chauraha to Hazratganj Chauraha, will remain single-lane closed.
Sector-15, Vrindavan Yojana
From Sector-14 Canal Bridge Chauraha towards Sector-19 (Piprikheda), traffic will be diverted via Sector-12 Canal Bridge, Gyan Sarovar Canal Bridge (Ishwari Kheda), Chiraiyabag, Telibagh, or Canal Road to Kalindi Park turn.
From Sector-19 (Piprikheda) towards Sector-16 Sapna Enclave, Sector-15 Chauraha, and the event venue, traffic will be diverted via Kalli Paschim Police Line Road or Sector-14 Canal Bridge-Utrethia Shaheed Path railway crossing-Vrindavan Yojana Sector 07C.
From Sector-16 (Sapna Enclave) towards Sector-15 or the venue, traffic will be diverted via Sector-19 or Trauma Centre Chauraha-Sector-17 Canal Bridge-Awas Vikas Gate (Petrol Pump)-PGI Tiraaha.
From Sector-18 (New Trauma Centre) towards Sapna Enclave and Sector-19, traffic will go via Sector-17 Vrindavan Yojana-Kalli Paschim Police Line Road.
From Sector-12 towards Sector-15 and the venue, traffic will be diverted via Gyan Sarovar Canal Bridge, Chiraiyabag, Telibagh, or Canal Road to Kalindi Park turn.
From Gyan Sarovar Canal Bridge towards Sectors 11 and 12 and Sector-15, traffic will be diverted through Chiraiyabag, Telibagh, or Canal Road to Kalindi Park turn.
From Sector-8 Vrindavan Yojana Shaheed Path Underpass towards Sectors 10 and 15, traffic will be diverted via the Sector-8 underpass–Amity International School–Utrethia Railway Station Road or Telibagh.
