Actors Sidharth Malhotra & Rashmika Mandanna in Lucknow for espionage thriller, Mission Majnu!

Shoot for the espionage thriller has commenced in Lucknow.

On Thursday, actors, Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna announced that they have started shooting for their next film 'Mission Majnu', which is slated to be shot in Lucknow and Mumbai. "A special one with a special team. #MissionMajnu, day 1," Sidharth tweeted. This upcoming movie would also mark the debut of Rashmika Mandanna, who works predominantly in Telugu and Kannada-language films, in Bollywood. The film also features actors Sharib Hashmi and Kumud Mishra in prime roles.

Story of an Indian mission in Pakistan

Sidharth Malhotra was earlier spotted in the city for Jabariya Jodi, which was released in 2019. As per reports, the shooting schedule for his latest movie will be spanning over 45 days. Mission Majnu's lead actress, Rashmika Mandanna was quoted saying, "Ahhhh... I sooooo can't wait to join my team. Let the mission start!!! #MissionMajnu."

This espionage thriller, directed by Shantanu Bagchi and penned by Parveez Shaikh, Aseem Arora, and Sumit Batheja, is based on an ambitious covert operation of India and is inspired by real events of the 1970s.

It is the story of an Indian mission in Pakistan. The crew will be clocked filming at Hazratganj's Jahangirabad Palace, La Martiniere, Malihabad and also on the city roads. Mission Majnu will be on the big screens later this year, as per the current schedule .

The film industry is steadily getting a grip back on work and since its resumption, there have been an array of exciting announcements about new films and shootings in Lucknow. The city has become increasingly popular with the Bollywood fraternity, with big shots from the industry coming in for the shoots of prominent movies and series. Previously, Lucknow has been a ground for pieces like Gulaabo Sitabo, A Suitable Boy, Rangbaaz, Umrao Jaan, Raid, Jolly LLB 2 and the list goes on.

Auto-rickshaw & taxi rides get costlier in Mumbai

Commuters in Mumbai will now have to pay a minimum fare of ₹21 & ₹25 for all CNG-run auto-rickshaws and taxis, respectively.

The base fare of all CNG-run public commute vehicles, taxis and autorickshaws has witnessed a hike of ₹3 in Mumbai. The decision was finalised in a meeting of the MMRTA last week, chaired by the State Transport Secretary. Effective from Monday, March 1, the minimum rate of travel has been hiked after 6 years in Mumbai and was long overdue, commented the State Transport Minister. Previously, a hike in the base fare was implemented on June 1, 2015.

Mumbai's Central Railway Authority has raised the cost of platform tickets to ₹50, in a bid to avoid overcrowding in the premises. The change will be applicable only at the key stations of the suburban train network, that witness heavy footfalls daily. As per reports, the heightened prices have been in effect since February 24 in view of the unprecedented spike in cases, soon after the resumption of local train services for all. Linking 31k Gram Panchayats to optical fibre, UP expands internet cover in remote regions

The project comes with an objective to equip 58,194 gram panchayats in 75 districts with optical fibre by December 31, 2022.

Renovating the internet facilities at the grassroots, the Uttar Pradesh government has successfully provided high-speed connectivity to 31,149 gram panchayats across the state, under the National Broadband Mission. Linking them with optical fibre, the authorities have ensured a seamless flow of internet services in far-flung regions of the state. Additionally, it is proposed that 14,100 more panchayats shall be connected to internet broadband in the next 2 months.
