With interlocking of tracks underway at Manaknagar railway station, several train routes to Agra, Delhi, Jhansi, Mathura, Meerut and Gorakhpur have come to a halt. The trains originating or passing via this station to all these destinations have been halted till September 02, and in lieu of this, UPSRTC will run additional buses to these locations. In total, 30 short and long distance trains have been closed down for the time being.
Multiple buses substitute for short distance trains in UP and nearby areas
Trains from Manaknagar to Agra, Delhi, Jhansi Mathura, Meerut and Gorakhpur see heavy footfall of passengers. Since the stoppage of trains will come as an inconvenience, UPSRTC buses will ply between Manaknagar and aforementioned locations.
The buses will act as a stop-gap arrangement until September 02, which is the given deadline to complete interlocking work at Manaknagar railway station. From Lucknow, buses will depart at Alambagh Bus Terminal, and depending on the number of passengers, additional buses will ply between several routes. Also, another set of buses will originate from Kaiserbagh bus stand, which are bound towards Bareilly, Saharanpur and Shahjahanpur.
Passengers can book bus tickets online, or in Tatkal from the ticket counter. Instructions for the buses have been sent forward to the respective authorities for smooth operation of the same.
