New parking lots in Lucknow’s Kaiserbagh to ease the crossing’s long-standing traffic woes
Kaiserbagh is one of the busiest and the most crowded places in Lucknow. The constant traffic amidst the busy market, leads to jams that make movement very difficult.
But the days of the market being cluttered are gone, as the new Lucknow Municipal Corporation is building two new underground parking lots in the busy area.
What we know
The two parking lots will be built in 4,000-5,000 square meters. One of the lots will be made near the collectorate building while the other one would be tactically built near the fish market.
The parking lot being built near the collectorate building is expected to be a smidge bigger than the fish market one. It is expected to have the capacity of around 200 four wheelers and 180 two wheelers while the other one is expected to have the capacity of 150 four wheelers and 100 two wheelers.
The two parking lots, together, would be good enough to keep the clutter off of the roads in Kaiserbagh, freeing up space and reducing congestion.
Why the need?
The unavailability of a specified parking space is one of the major causes of haphazard parking issue that is prevalent in Kaiserbagh. With the introduction of the new parking spaces the roads will become much less cluttered, shoppers and pedestrian will also find it easier to navigate through the market without caring about much.
When will they be ready?
The parking lots are expected to be complete by the summer of next year. The work is on progress and it is set to finish soon.
