Lucknow Darshan Double-Decker E-Bus sees low footfall after yesterday’s launch
The ‘Lucknow Darshan’ double-decker electric bus began operations on Wednesday as a commercial heritage tourism service. While the launch drew interest, passenger numbers remained limited. The morning run carried 10 passengers on the 66-seater bus, while the evening trip saw 14.
The service is designed to offer a structured overview of Lucknow’s heritage, combining historic sites with civic landmarks.
Route & starting point
The tour commenced from 1090 Chauraha, Gomti Nagar, and covered a curated circuit of the city’s prominent heritage and civic landmarks. Key stretches included Raj Bhavan, GPO, Hazratganj, Begum Hazrat Mahal Park, Globe Park and Chattar Manzil, ticketed entry to The Residency and more.
However, the highlight of the tour was the exclusive visit to Vidhan Bhavan. Passengers were granted special entry to the Assembly Hall and picture gallery on presenting government-issued identity cards, including digital IDs. The stop lasted approximately 30 minutes.
The journey concluded back at 1090 Chauraha, finishing around 10 minutes behind schedule. Passengers were given a small gift pack containing refreshments and souvenirs.
