Relaxed night curfew to stretch from 10 PM to 6 AM in Lucknow, Kanpur & other UP districts

Earlier, night curfew in Uttar Pradesh was ordained from 9 PM to 6 AM.

In yet another relaxation of COVID norms, the state of Uttar Pradesh has eased the curfew hours here. As per reports, the prohibition has been shortened by an hour across Lucknow and all other districts and will now stretch from 10 PM to 6 AM. Earlier, curfew hours were marked from 9 PM to 6 AM.

State to track, test & treat COVID-19 without any laxity

The Additional Chief Secretary of Information reportedly stated that the relaxed curfew norm has been extended in wake of a subdued COVID situation in the state. Only 125 fresh COVID cases were reported across UP, in the last 24 hours, he informed. The ACS took this opportunity to highlight that the state would exercise no laxity in other means of controlling the virus and would continue to test, track and treat the virus, as underlined by the Chief Minister.

UP's Vaccination defence against the pandemic

Counting over 3.71 crore vaccinations as yet, Uttar Pradesh is leading the wagon of COVID immunity drive in India, as yet. The nation's most populous state has managed to administer the first jab to at least 13.9% of its people, via bolstered and targetted strategies. Of this, around 2.6% of people in UP are fully vaccinated.

As per CoWin portal stats, capital Lucknow is driving an accelerated defence against coronavirus with 66 active vaccination sites. A total of 16,07,997 people have been given the COVID jab here, since January 2021. Of this, around 3,49,692 people are fully vaccinated, with both doses while 12,58,305 people have been given the first dose.
