Now, SGPGI Lucknow to provide OPD services in two shifts

The system is implemented to reduce the pressure on the staff and control traffic on the SGPGI campus

Officials at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow have decided to implement a new system and offer its OPD services in two shifts.

The patients will be divided into two time slots so that they don't have to wait for a long time for checkups. This decision was taken in view of the parking issue on the campus.

The Chief Medical Superintendent Of The Institute, Gaurav Agrawal said that the two-shift system was planned after taking feedback from patients, doctors, and other staff members.

A specific time slot for registration of patients

With this system, patients will have to get themselves registered in one of the two time slots- 7:00 am to 9:00 am or 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Patients registered in the first slot will see the doctor from 10 am to 1 pm, while patients of the second slot, will be allotted time between 2 pm and 5 pm.

According to Gaurav Agarwal, serious patients will be attended to without waiting for their turns in the queues. “OPD services are divided into two shifts for the comfort of patients and staff. We want to reduce pressure on doctors and staff while at the same time provide better services to the patients,” he added.

Along with this, the quality of food in the SGPGI cafeteria will also be focused upon, and online payment software will be installed as well, which will help patients avoid the long queues at the counters.
