Buckle up, Lucknowites, ‘cuz it’s time to memorise the long list of new names that some of the parks, chaurahas and roads in Lucknow have gotten.
Yes, you read that right! Finalised and released by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation in a recent meeting, the list this time also includes the famous Burlington Square! Read on to check the entire list and do keep a pen and paper handy, folks, so as to not be taken by surprise when you see these changes on the roads!
List of changes
• The Lalbagh Tiraha will now be called Suheldev Rajbhar Tiraha.
• The route from Mohan Bhog crossroads to Kothari brothers will thereafter be called Kalyaneshwar Hanuman Mandir Marg.
• Viram Khand Ram Bhawan Chauraha to be changed to Martyr Major Kamal Kalia Chauraha.
• Sanjay Gandhipuram Square/Chauraha will, from now on, become Chandrashekhar Azad Square/Chauraha.
• The road going from Rajajipuram F Block to E Block market will be called Mahakavi Pandit Chail Bihari Vajpayee.
• The Burlington Square is now Ashok Singhal Square.
• Alambagh’s Tedhi Pulia will be called Khalsa Chowk.
• Azad Nagar Colony Park will now be Mangal Pandey Park.
• The Nirala Nagar’s Lal Tikoniya Park is now Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Park.
• The Secunderabad intersection has been renamed as Veerangana Udadevi Ward.
• The Sarvodaya Nagar Gate will now be called Swatraveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar Dwar.
The route from the Piccadilly Hotel Kanpur Road to Ashiana Power House has now been named Digambar Jain Temple Marg.
• The Mini Stadium in Rajajipuram is now Suresh Srivastava Stadium.
Certain parks in Ashiana have ben named as Guru Nanak Park, Sardar Udham Singh Park, Dashmesh Park.
