A proposal drafted by the Unaided Private Schools Association to resume offline classes for classes 6 to 8 has been approved by the state of Uttar Pradesh. As a result, all schools in Lucknow and other parts of the state are preparing themselves ahead of the issuance of an official order for the same. As tabled, students of classes 6 to 8 will be permitted to attend offline classes, starting next week on January 18 (Monday), with parental consent.
Activities that promote group contact to remain suspended
Offline classes will begin shortly for pupils of classes 6 to 8, who until now were inducted into online classrooms. This order, in all likeliness, will enable students from classes 6 to 12 to attend schools together for 5-hour sessions daily. As per the timetable, the students will also get a half-hour lunch break in between. Activities that promote group contact, including assemblies and sports, will remain suspended to avoid the spread of coronavirus among students and staff.
The schools have authorised parental consent as the discretion, which has to be obtained for the children to come to school. All schools’ transport services such as buses and vans will remain terminated and parents will have to arrange a personal vehicle for their wards.
Safety measures like strict social distancing, thermal checks at entry points, wearing of masks and face covers, and regular washing of hands have been made mandatory for all the students and staff attending regular classes in schools.
