Lucknow’s COVID infection graph on Friday plunged below the 50-mark after 80 days of high figures and tallies. As per reports, only 40 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, marking a major respite amid the raging pandemic. Meanwhile, recovery surged to a much higher count at 162 discharges, effectively minimising the active caseload down to 1,334 patients. The state capital has reportedly clocked in a total of 2,33,944 recoveries and 2,486 deaths as yet.
Strengthening the healing trends in Lucknow & other UP districts
The state of Uttar Pradesh has issued certain directives to boulder a stronger vaccination programme to boost the healing trends in Lucknow and other districts. While reviewing the status of the inoculation campaign here, the CM warned the officials to be at their efficient best. He stated that strict actions will be taken against those who are negligent towards their duty and that there is no room for any mischief or complaint. All vaccination sites have to strictly adhere to all COVID-19 protocols, he added.
In a state-wide launch on June 1, all districts in UP are now conducting COVID vaccinations. As per reports, the state will closely monitor the activities of such drives, across all districts. The state further intends to run continuous awareness drives to educate people about the importance of the vaccine. Other directives by the CM include increasing the number of vaccination centres and ensure adequate availability of the jab. So far, there are 6027 centres are administering the coronavirus jab in UP.
Building defence for the third wave of coronavirus
Besides this, the CM has also envisioned starting PICUs and NICUs across all state districts by June 20 to curtail the upcoming third wave of infection. Each medical college is getting 100 PICUs and 50 NICUs under this agenda. Other infrastructure developments are simultaneously underway at other hospitals and CHCs, read reports.
The state is also offering a special 5-day training at 85 training centres in the state to school doctors, nurses and attending staff about paediatric care. Meanwhile, OPD services have also been here to boost the overall health infrastructure, beyond COVID treatment.
