In a bid to strengthen the law enforcement infrastructure in the state, cyber help desks will be set up at the police stations across all cities of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow. Being implemented in view of the increasing cyber crimes, this measure will help in the quick redressal of the cases. DGP Mukul Goyal affirmed that the Police Department is working on a string of possible steps to deal with the growing menace of cyber offences.

As per the DGP, cyber police stations have been established under the jurisdiction of all regional headquarters in the state. Despite this, people from far-flung villages and remote areas find it difficult to access these centres. Taking cognisance of these problems, the authorities have decided to institute cyber help desks at the station level itself. Once these desks are operational, police officers will be able to lodge complaints and resolve cases related to cybercrimes in a rapid and streamlined manner.
The DGP informed that a faster course of justice with quick filing of complaints. In cases of financial fraud, the sooner a case is registered, the easier it is to get the money back. Further, the 155260 helpline service has been started in an attempt to prevent financial loss due to cyber fraud.

Now, the upcoming help desks will ensure faster registration and resolution of complaints related to hacking, harassment, online eve-teasing and other such issues. Given that the complaints will be lodged at the local level police stations, the officials will be able to take immediate action. Additionally, swift interventions will ensure that the culprits are nabbed at the earliest and thus, citizens will be able to navigate justice in a hassle-free way.
