UP's best-kept secret: Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary

The Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, nestled in Bahraich district, stands as a hidden gem in Uttar Pradesh. Often underrated, it's a mere 273 km from Kanpur, strategically linking the tiger habitats of Dudhwa and Kishanpur in Nepal.

Spanning 400 sq. kms, the sanctuary features picturesque forests and tranquil water streams from the Ghaghra river. Home to a captivating array of wildlife, including gharials, rhinos, Gangetic dolphins, swamp deer, hispid hare, Bengal florican, as well as the White-backed and Long-billed vultures, the park is a true haven for nature enthusiasts.

Adding to its allure, the sanctuary's strategic connection to other prominent national parks results in a remarkably high rate of tiger sightings during jungle safaris.

Experience the serenity of nature at the Dudhwa National Park

Situated around 293 km from Kanpur, Dudhwa National Park sprawls across 490 sq. km. Overflowing with diverse wildlife, lush forests, expansive grasslands, and serene water bodies, it stands as an ideal retreat – a perfect spot for family picnics.

Dudhwa National Park is renowned for its breathtaking scenic vistas, and the presence of tigers and rhinos adds to its allure. Starting from November 15, the park has not only reduced its service rates but has also introduced an innovative helicopter service!
