PWD initiates construction and widening of 5 major commute routes in Lucknow

Two more months will be taken to figure out the tender process.

Lucknow being the epicentre of major development projects in Uttar Pradesh, has a high number of vehicles moving through the city at any point in time. Given this, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has taken up the task of widening of five major roads across town, including the ones from Tuslidas Marg and Chinhat.

So far, a budget of ₹52.67 crore has been released for three roads. Read on to know the details and budget of each of the projects.

Here are the 5 roads which will be widened under the initiative

Making road travel safer and more convenient, Public Works Department (PWD), Lucknow will start construction and widening of roads in five prominent areas. Dedicated roads that’ll go under construction and help build a sturdy commuting network, in Lucknow are:

  • From Jail Road Police Chowki via Devi Kheda Road to Lucknow Varanasi Marg, will be widened across 2.4 KMs. Approximate budget for it is capped at ₹4.90 crore.

  • From Sitapur Road, Faizullaganj to Dhantigra Road via Altab Kheda, the road will be widened over 6.17 KMs. Approximate budget for the same is ₹12.72 crore.

  • From Chinhat to Juggour via Satrikh, the road will be widened for 7.13 KMs. Approximate budget for this leg of the project is ₹35.05 crore.

  • Road from Tulsidas Marg will be widened for 1.10 KMs. Budget for the same is yet to be disclosed.

  • From Malhaur railway station, the Lolai road will be widened for 3.40 KMs. Budget for the same is yet to be disclosed.

However, the work is far from complete. Two more months will be taken to figure out the tender process, shortlist a company and issue work orders, stated PWD officials.
