Baarish: Art. Music. Monsoon is set to make its Lucknow debut on September 26 at Clarks Avadh, bringing together everything that makes the city’s relationship with the rains so special. In Lucknow, baarish has always been more than a change in weather — it’s chai that stretches into the evening, old songs that sound a little more soulful, and conversations that somehow never seem to need an ending.

This September, that unmistakable monsoon mood takes centre stage, as music, storytelling, art and culture come together for an evening of soulful melodies, shared memories and the slow, nostalgic charm of a Lucknow baarish. Read on to know more.

Askari Naqvi’s sarangi, Yatindra Mishra’s stories & Kutle Khan’s folk fire await

Askari Naqvi opens the night with Megha Rey, and it’s less a recital than a conversation Awadh has been having with the rain for centuries, finally set to sarangi, dholak and tabla. The songs pull from old Barsaat compositions and poets like Nazeer Akbarabadi and Meera Bai, and somewhere in the mix of vocals and strings, every mood the monsoon carries shows up uninvited, longing, love, a little mischief, and the kind of nostalgia that doesn’t need explaining if you’ve grown up here.

Yatindra Mishra follows, and the pace barely changes, it just gets more thoughtful. As a poet and music scholar, he walks through Kahaani Geeton Ki: Baarish Edition, tracing the songs and memories that turned rain into one of Indian music’s favourite obsessions.

Then the mood flips entirely as headliner Kutle Khan takes the stage, and Rajasthan’s folk energy arrives with khartal in hand, refusing to stay quiet for anyone’s introspective evening. It’s rhythm-first, unapologetically loud, and blends old folk traditions with a contemporary edge, the kind of set that makes people who came to sit and reflect suddenly stand up.

A walk through craft, culture & creativity at Baarish Bazaar

The music may bring everyone together, but Baarish Bazaar is where the evening slows down. Away from the stage, it creates a little world of its own, a space to wander without a plan, meet the makers behind the creations, and discover pieces that carry a story with them. Bringing together artisans, designers, lifestyle brands and conscious creators, the Bazaar is less about shopping quickly and more about taking your time.

Adding a slice of Lucknow’s own creative heritage, Lucknow Bioscope will bring a pop-up exhibition, Sanatkada store and live craft demonstrations, letting guests see the city’s traditions up close, through conversations, craftsmanship and stories rather than just displays.

It’s the kind of corner you’ll want to explore before the first note plays, because sometimes the best memories come from the things you didn’t plan to stop for.

End your September with a monsoon memory

From soulful melodies and forgotten stories to craft, conversations and the unmistakable feeling of a rainy evening in Lucknow, Baarish: Art.Music.Monsoon brings together everything that makes the season special. It’s an invitation to slow down, soak in the atmosphere and experience the monsoon beyond just the rain. So save September 26, bring your favourite people along, and let Clarks Avadh become the setting for an evening filled with music, memories and a little monsoon magic.
