The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has launched a new initiative, allowing citizens to host events like birthday parties, kitty parties, and pre-wedding photoshoots inside metro coaches and stations in Lucknow. Transforming the metro into more than just a mode of transport, this one-of-a-kind offering provides a modern venue for unforgettable celebrations.

Sushil Kumar, Managing Director of UPMRC, stated that the goal is to redefine the metro experience beyond just transportation. He emphasised that by permitting events and creative programmes within metro trains and stations, passengers would have a unique opportunity to engage with the metro services.

Interested parties can book a metro coach for four hours at ₹10,000, which can seat four to five people, including photographers, while additional guests can purchase regular metro tickets. However, to maintain cleanliness and safety standards, food and beverages are not permitted inside the coaches.

The service particularly caters to families, social groups, and couples seeking urban backdrops for their pre-wedding shoots. Bookings must be made at least 10 days in advance by emailing upmrclpress@upmrcl.co.in or calling 9696104938, allowing adequate time for event coordination and preparation.
