Passengers can now access the newly renovated retiring rooms at Lucknow's Charbagh Railway Station. IRCTC has ramped up facilities at the old retiring rooms, which now comprises 11 air-conditioned resting rooms and 16 air-conditioned dormitory beds, along with coupe beds for the benefit of travellers. Bookings for the same can also be made on an hourly basis, informed railway officials.

Accommodation facilities ramped up at Lucknow Railway Station

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has remodelled the retiring rooms of Lucknow Division into a hotel-like resting area. This faciliity is equipped with all basic amenities, such as air conditioners, refrigerators, LED television sets, double beds, sofa sets along with chairs and dressing tables. All washrooms are furnished with toiletries including shampoo, towels and soaps.

While informing about the new and improved facility, the DRM of Lucknow Division, Dr. Monika Agnihotri also mentioned that this economical option will mainly benefit people visiting Lucknow for short stays or business purposes. Being the capital city, a lot of people travel here on a daily basis and a service that can be accessed on an hourly basis with hotel-like amenities, would ease matters for them.

Travellers, be it men or women, can opt for rooms or separate designated dormitories, prepared for them. Each resting room or retiring bed can be booked on an hourly basis, for a maximum of 48 hours. Bookings can be made done from the IRCTC website, in advance.

Hour-wise booking charges

The IRCTC has also announced an affordable rate card for the bookings. To get a single bed in AC Dormitory at the railway station, travellers will have to pay only ₹112 for three hours and ₹212 for a stay between four to six hours. The price range then moves up to ₹312 for seven to nine hours and ₹362 for ten to twelve hours.

For one day, the dormitory bed cost has been marked at ₹412, moving up to ₹624 for any booking up to 36 hours. Passengers can book a bed for a maximum of 2 days, at ₹824.

Similarly, booking for rooms begin at ₹584 for three hours, ₹808 for four-six hours and ₹1,032 for seven to nine hours. For stays extending for ten to twelve hours, the room cost has been marked at ₹1,368. One-day bookings will start at ₹1,704, going up to ₹2,848 for 36-hour occupancy. Maximum stay for 2 days is permitted at ₹3,408.
